I am really pleased with the satin stitch on the leaves. I used to hate satin stitch but now I find it so relaxing!
Needed to be after the day I have had. Realised we couldn't book a trip to Melbourne as my passport had expired. Found the form online, filled it in, checked the guidelines, got the photos taken (yuck). Then went to the post shop to get it checked and sent off to the British High Commission! Bloody unhelpful woman in the post shop. Didn't know a thing, told me I had done it wrong when I hadn't, told me it was up to the customer to get it right, they were only there to process it, and then forgot to put the receipt in the envelope to prove i had paid.
Had Caitlin at home with another of her throat, headache, tension/exhaustion things too, though she was no trouble.
And finally... Reuben got his mid year report to day. It was stunning! I am a proud mom! I knew it would be good but it was EXCELLENT!!!! Now for the parent teacher meeting tomorrow, where Mr McLarin can explain one comment on the report about intelligence being hereditary and that individuals tend to regress to the norm. I figure he means Reuben is gifted, that he is genetically advantaged but he needs to keep up the work effort to fulfill his amazing potential-Well I am a teacher of the gifted so that's what I believe!!! We shall see!
Hey! I saw this in the swap group on flickr and just wanted to compliment you on the stitching. So neat! Beautiful design, too! Your recipient will be very happy!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I loved sewing this. We are so lucky to have such a beautiful Christmas tree in NZ.
